Artifact Donations
The Taylor Museum of Waco and McLennan County History welcomes the consideration of historically significant objects that help tell the stories of our community. We are currently seeking artifacts that support upcoming exhibitions and enhance the interpretation of Waco and McLennan County history.
Artifacts of Interest
We are especially interested in items related to:

Indigenous communities in the area

Early European arrival and community formation in McLennan County

The contributions and cultures of all Waco citizens, particularly those historically underrepresented
-
Education in Waco
-
Waco neighborhoods
-
Early agriculture, ranching, and the Chisholm Trail
-
Waco industry and commerce
-
Early local churches
-
Early Waco photographs, illustrations, advertisements, and postcards
-
Transportation, including railroads, interurban lines, the Waco Trolley, and Hall Cycle Cars
-
Waco-related sports teams, Katy Park, and notable local athletes
-
Disasters and recovery efforts, including Brazos River flooding, the 1953 Tornado, and the West Explosion
-
Waco’s wartime efforts, including Camp MacArthur, Rich Field, and Blackland Army Airfield
-
Significant artifacts related to the history of McLennan County
Important Information
Please do not bring items directly to the Museum unless you have been asked to do so. We cannot accept items that are dropped off without prior review.
The Museum is unable to accept every item offered or guarantee exhibition. All donation decisions are made by committee.
