Western music legend Michael Martin Murphey

headlined a special benefit concert in support of the Taylor Museum of Waco and McLennan County History on September 27, 2024, at the historic Waco Hippodrome Theatre. The event brought together music lovers and museum supporters for an unforgettable evening celebrating both Western heritage and local history.

In addition to his performance, Murphey generously donated a signed guitar associated with his iconic song “Wildfire,” which was auctioned during the event to raise additional funds for the Museum. The auction and concert proceeds directly supported the Taylor Museum’s mission to preserve and share the rich history of Waco and McLennan County.

The Museum extends its sincere gratitude to Michael Martin Murphey and all who attended and supported the fundraiser, helping ensure that local stories, artifacts, and traditions continue to be preserved for future generations.
